1. Who we are

Brivtex ("we", "our", "us") is a web application that summarizes YouTube videos using AI. We are operated as a personal project. Questions about this policy can be directed to support@brivtex.com.

2. What data we collect

  • Account information — your email address and username when you register.
  • Google sign-in information — your Google account identifier and primary email address when you use Google SSO.
  • YouTube OAuth token — only if you separately connect YouTube, we store a token that grants read-only access to your subscriptions. You can remove this access from Connected Accounts. Brivtex never posts, likes, or modifies YouTube data.
  • Video URLs and metadata — the YouTube URLs you submit, and the video title and channel name we fetch from YouTube.
  • Posts — the text and private images you add to a post, and the links you include. For each link, we store its address and the title, description, and similar details the page publishes, and we may keep up to 100,000 characters of extracted plain text from the page so it can be summarized.
  • AI-generated summaries — the summary, key points, detailed notes, and Booster we generate for each video or post.
  • Billing information — subscription plan status. Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe and are never stored on our servers.
  • Usage data — standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages visited) retained for up to 30 days.

3. How we use your data

  • To provide and improve the summarization service.
  • To manage your subscription and process payments via Stripe.
  • To fetch your YouTube subscriptions when you choose to connect YouTube.
  • To fetch the public URLs you add to a post. Our servers request only publicly reachable pages, without your cookies or credentials, to read the link's details and its text.
  • To summarize a post only when you choose Summarize. At that point we send the post's text, the extracted plain text from its links, and its images to our configured AI providers. Nothing is sent to an AI provider just by saving a post.
  • We do not sell your data to third parties.
  • We do not use your data to train AI models.

4. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services which may process your data under their own privacy policies:

  • Google / YouTube — OAuth authentication and YouTube Data API.
  • Stripe — payment processing.
  • OpenAI / DeepSeek / Qwen — AI summarization (your transcript, or a post's text, link text, and images when you choose Summarize, is sent to our configured AI provider to generate a summary).
  • Cloudflare R2 — object storage for images you add to posts. Images are stored privately, processed on our behalf, and shown only to you through short-lived links.
  • Render — cloud hosting.
  • Webshare — proxy service used to fetch YouTube transcripts.

5. Data retention

Your account data and summaries are retained for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account yourself at any time from the Account page while signed in. Deletion takes effect immediately: your summaries, posts, baskets, tags and stored connections are erased, any paid plan is cancelled, and any YouTube access token is revoked. When you delete a post, an image, or your account, we remove the images from object storage in the background and our system retries until the storage provider confirms each deletion. Operational logs are anonymised rather than deleted, and the standard server logs described above expire on their own within 30 days.

6. Cookies

We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

7. Your rights

You can delete your personal data at any time using the account deletion control described above. For access to or correction of your personal data, contact us at support@brivtex.com.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of Brivtex after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
